Submission Policy.

writingThe Christian Manifesto Submission Policy

At this time The Christian Manifesto is accepting solicited and unsolicited materials for review. However, we do receive a great deal of materials from both prominent and independent publishers, vendors, artists, and film production companies. Because of this, we cannot promise that everything sent to us will be reviewed.

Solicited material:

All solicited material will be reviewed. If we ask you for it, we feel obligated to review it.

Unsolicited material:

Unsolicited material may or may not be reviewed for the website. If we choose to review your materials for the site, you will be notified via email (so please include an email address where you can be reached).  As with solicited material, we ask that you give us one month from time of receipt. We often review them well before this time, but would like to establish for ourselves an appropriate buffer to allow for unforeseen circumstances.
What to expect from a review:

  • Honest critique
    • We will not give a book, CD, or film a “pass” simply because it is faith-based or considered an alternative to “secular” materials. Actually, we review secular materials, too…so if you’re strictly an “alternative to secular” type, you need not apply.
    • If your product is great, we will let people know. If it is not, we will also let people know. (Some may find our prose somewhat offensive because Christian critiquing is known for being overly nice. While we will strive to not have a sinfully negative attitude about bad material or play favorites with genres we are already disposed towards, we will not use flowery language to paint a nice picture of Christian material that is, in fact, crap.)
  • Spiritual overview
    • While this might seem more nebulous, as a Christian ministry, we view things from a decidedly Christian worldview. Therefore, we will judge items, Christian and “secular” based on this outlook.
