This edition of the Profess Interview Series brings to you an exclusive conversation between C.E. Moore and Reach Records recording artist, DJ Official. In our interview Official talks about his new album “Entermission,” what it’s like to go from behind the deejay table to the limelight, partnering with various artists, and the idea of reconciliation and restoration with Ambassador & Da Truth.

On the new album: “In July of 2008, me, Json, and Lecrae were sitting around the table and they said, ‘You’ve been this so long, why don’t you make a tape?’…I had just never had an opportunity to do something. They asked if I had tracks and I told them, ‘Man, I’ve got tracks for days!’ So, Json kind of challenged me to go forth with a project.”
On being in the limelight: “It’s weird. I’ve been playing in the background and it’s a position I love doing. I don’t need to be center stage. I’ve never wanted it…”
On the restoration of Ambassador & Truth: “I think that the key is restoration within all fronts. Let’s forget about the music right now. Let the Lord deal with you guys in your personal lives—within your own marriages, within the church—and then let’s see about music later on down the line, or at all.”
